Stardust Movie
I was pleasantly surprised by the Stardust movie. It’s the story of a young man who is in search of a falling star in order to win the heart amd hand of his lover. It is very refreshing to watch a fantasy movie in which you are carried away and fall in your childhood. It’s definitely not the long Lord of the Rings melodrama. The acting is good as there is a good cast. You have to watch Robert de Niro in it. He certainly beats Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of Caribbean. Michelle Pfeiffer is always amazing and beautiful (You have to watch her going down the elevator in Scarface). Claire Danes is the star however (literally).
It’s very rare that I go to the movies. Since I had some extra free time today, I decided to check ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ with Will Smith. It is the biographical story of a man battling poverty, making ends meet, raising his child and working as a trainee at a stock brokerage firm in San Francisco. The movie is kind of depressing. I would thought it would focus more on being happy. It’s not. It’s about unhappy people wanting to be rich (or not wanting to be poor anymore). There is good acting from the Smiths (father & son). It is a sad, depressing movie. I need something to cheer me up.
