Super Tuesday on February 5, 2008

2008 is presidential election year for the United States. On February 5, 24 states will hold the primary elections: the nomination of the Democrat and Republican candidates. The winners of the Super Tuesdays will be assured of the nomination from their respective political parties. We will see if Barack Obama can withhold his position. Obama/Clinton would form a good pair. We will see if Ron Paul can steal the nomination with his grassroots support. Generally, it goes by two. One side controls the power for two mandates and then the other side controls for the next two. Bush time is up now. People will want some dramatic change. The Democrats have all the chances to win the next election.

Top 3 Tech Podcasts I listen

This Week in Tech: the grandmother of all tech podcast. Leo and John C make a good pair. It’s nice to hear (always) opposing views. The recent episodes with Jason Brooklyn Gangtsa-style Calacanis were full of insight. He is a great guest.

Infected: Martin Sargent, the Internet Superstar wannabe, has great interview skills and has crazy websites to show us. It’s like Unscrewed but not exactly the same. The same sense of humour is here.

Cranky Geeks: Sebastian Rupley is co-host and provides insightful remarks.

Places to go in 2008

Back in January 2007, I listed some places I’d like to visit but I did not visit any in 2007. Instead, I went to San Francisco and the Silicon Valley and my second trip was to the United Kingdom and Hungary. This year, my objective is to fly in a small airplane to some places in North America. If I have a more experienced partner-pilot with me, we could fly to California, Florida or even Alaska. I think I can scrape two weeks of vacations to take by end April from work and will probably use my air miles if I fly commercial. After that, it will be 2008 vacation days. Next summer, I’ll see if a semi-planned road trip through Western Europe still holds. I’ll evaluate the option when time comes.
