Travel tips
- Pack light: Bring the bare minimum and save yourself a back ache. You need a travel bag and a day back pack.
- A good Travel guide book: The Let’s Go edition is old (2004) and I did not see the , Frommers, Lonely Planet or Routard edition. I ended up with the Fodor’s 2007 SF guide. I’ll borrow the other books from the library and bring the Fodor’s with me.
- Good pair of shoes: it is advisable not to bring brand new shoes. Use them for a week before your departure at least.
- Money belt: it is a pouch that you put under your pants and where you put your passport and money. Make sure to have some cash for the day and a credit card in your regular wallet. Normally, you should not need anything from the money belt and it should not leave you at all times (even in the bathroom).
- Laptop: I am wondering if whether or not I bring a laptop. It’s great that you can connect home and check your stuff at night.
- Book a hotel that is in a central location (downtowm). You will pay more but you will save on transportation and enjoy the night better.
