I think your buying strategy is right. Give yourself a timeframe to find something that suits you; if that timeframe elapses without you finding anything, reconsider all options from the beginning, as the options have certainly changed. I note that you are not considering a Philips. Interestingly, in the TV market, the big brands are not always the best. Of course, it is undeniable that Sony remains a serious contender in any competition to do with entertainment, but you would be surprised how the lesser known brands rate amongst reviewers. Philips, for example, was the editor's choice in the 32" TV category in a recent T3 review. As for me, except for the limited connections on <a href="http://priscimon.com/blog/2007/01/11/tvdrive-and-hd-finally/" rel="nofollow">my Philips 26" HDTV</a>, I am quite happy with the image. Even for non-HD sources, it performs well thanks to the upscaling technology built in.
