Shopping mode
I’m looking for a desktop computer that will run Linux at home. I need it to be silent so that I can leave open overnight. It must not sound like a hoover. No CPU fan at all would be great. I’m checking the Shuttle models and even the MacMini (!). I need something cheap and silent that let me work on my multiple shell sessions.

Why not buy a cheap laptop with an external hard disk?
